First it went global, but now Shake Shack is finally headed for Los Angeles

I know everyone on the West coast is huge fans of In-N-Out, but I personally think it doesn't taste that good and is overhyped. Shake Shack is where it's at. Definitely good news for New Yorkers moving to/living in LA.

Meh.... Shake Shack is way more expensive than In-N-Out. You should be comparing Shake Shack to 5 guys not in-n-out.

It's also a completely different business model. Shake Shack is not after opening stores in mass quantities like In-N-Out and Five Guys.

I'll definitely give it a try. Five Guys failed me, unfortunately, and I had high expectations. In-N-Out is still king.

Quantities? in-n-out? they would never open a store on the east coast or the south, or anywhere were there products are within a days shipment. So I'm not sure how you came up with that. 5 guys yes but not in-n-out.

How many stores does In-N-Out have in the LA area? They are everywhere. Even in Shake Shack's home base of NYC, there are only like 13 locations or so. And in other cities that they open up in, there are never more than one or two. The first Shake Shack was designed to serve a community, and every location that follows has that same model. No two Shake Shack locations look the same. So that's what I mean about not opening stores in mass quantities. In-N-Out might not be expanding to the East coast, but every location is replicated.

I like being able to walk into a Shack knowing that the store has a community feel to it and that it couldn't just be anywhere.

Shake Shack was founded in 2000 and has approximately 63 locations.

In-N-Out was founded in 1948 and has approximately 300 locations.

Seems to me Shake Shack is expanding pretty quickly.

Seems to tread a line between In and Out and Umami. I'll give it a try next time I have to go to the Strip.

There is room for more than one amazing burger place in LA. Considering there are already 1000000 I'm sure this will do well.
