ethiopians in LA. what else and where? South Americans?

It seems these two groups are lacking in the US. Lot of SA's in Miami.
Nigerians in Balt/dc area. these are just 2 examples.
diversity seems to be dominated by Mexicans in LA. are Asians gaining vs Mexicans here? (the METRO AREA NOT CITY)

There is a large community of Brazilians who live near Culver City, and there are many Ethiopians who live in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles as well.

along fairfax (or one of those west side streets) is little ethiopia. but there isnt a big african immigrant community like in the ATL or other places. south americans are mixed in with the rest of latinos. a lot of people think that everyone who speaks spanish is mexican, but in fact they represent the different nations of america. there is also a belizean community here in la. many speak spanish and look black tho. lookin at census data i noticed that among the the cities with the highest number of south americans and cubans, etc was glendale, burbank, bell and hawthorne of all places. la has a lot of mexicans but it also has a lot everything. its a big place after all.

There actually is a good number of Ivorians in Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar, and Northern San Diego County. Okay maybe like 100 or so, but still it's significant for the overall Ivorian population in America.

I'm Nigerian (born), and I moved to LA about a year ago from the Bay Area.

The African community here isn't large like the ones you may find in places like New York, Maryland, Georgia, or Texas, but it's sizable enough. Nigerians are mostly concentrated in middle class African-American suburbs, or upper middle class exurbs. The Crenshaw district, Baldwin Hills, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Carson, Lancaster, and Moreno Valley all have sizable populations of Nigerians.

Look here for cities with highest percentage of residents born in Nigeria (2000).

Top 101 cities w/ most residents born in Nigeria

Note: The number of immigrants from Africa has increased by an estimated 167% since 2000, so keep in mind how outdated these are.

Ethiopians make up the large majority of the African community, centered in the Little Ethiopia district. Even though the community is fairly small compared to other immigrants groups in California, the community is one of the fastest- this is evident from the ongoing immigration from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, plus refugees from Somalia, Burundi, D.R. Congo, and Zimbabwe.

I don't know very much about the South American community, but here are some links you may find helpful:

Lots of Brazilian restaurants, on Venice Blvd. along the border of Culver City and Palms.

Here in the Antelope Valley, we've got a large Peruvian and Argentinian population in Palmdale. A concentration of black Americans in zip code 93535 in a portion of east Lancaster, not a lot of African-born, though.
