Maybe Compton. But I've been looking for a condo for my kid for a while now and couldn't find anything less than $600k near LA city area. Not even nice area, just average.

I literally saw a house for 280k a few months ago. You're not looking very hard. That was located in LA city limits.

I'm sure south central will gentrify one day. Look at Oakland. Even they are losing to gentrification.

Uhh OK? Not sure what that has to do with mid century moderns or McMansions in Los Angeles.

You realize this isn't the bay area forum right?

If there was something for sale for that here
I would pull out everything I have and drop it on the desk at the realtors office and say, "I'll buy!" so fast the server wouldn't have had time to post the advertisement.

I'm saying that gentrification will eventually clear out ghetto neighborhoods once housing becomes too expensive. It applies to South Central.

I believe you're right that certain areas in South Central may gentrify one day because of its good location relative to downtown and the ocean.

Other ghetto areas like Lancaster and Palmdale will stay complete dumps.
