What price range are you set in? L.A. is not like Florida. It is WAY expensive out here. i live in Beverly Hills, and well you know, it is not an area to move to unless you're really pulling iin the dough ($$$$).

Plan, Plan, plan......
Create a budget and know what you have to play with before coming to an LA area. With a family it could be expensive to live and enjoy some surrounding sights for enjoyment.
Good luck with your relocation.

You might want to ask yourself why you want to move to L.A. Is it because of other family or just a desire. Families have it rough unless you're pulling in serious cash...

Then why do you want to live in LA? Most people with kids get out asap.

If cash is no problem, then fly to LA and check things out and decide where to live. A fact finding trip to scope things out would be the smartest thing to do.

Real Angelion is right. if money is not an issue, fly out and have a look around. You must have some reason for choosing California? Is there something you want to be close to? Friends? Family? The Ocean? There are lots of nice areas all over Southern California. I think Pacific Palisades is a beautiful area near the water and great schools. Very safe and near Santa Monica. Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills are also nice. Rolling Hills is a private community that lifts you right up out of Los Angeles. You can look out your backyard and see the lights of the city shimmering in the distance -- and the smell of eucalyptus trees is everywhere.

and if private thing ain't your thing i would say northern pasadena, just watch out for wild life. They get deers and such. That's where i'd move if money isn't an option. Close to the 110 & 210 while still being forest like.
