We're supposed to be in a drought, and here's some uber-rich dude using 11.8 gallons of water a year, probably mostly for his or her lawn. Annual water bill at $90,000: The ‘Wet’ Prince Of Bel Air: 1 Home Uses 12 Million Gallons Of Water Per Year « CBS Los Angeles

The rules don't apply to the wealthy, the politically well connected, or celebrities/athletes. Thus the attempt at "drought shaming" really is a non starter. That's only for 'regular' people.

Riding my bike through Brentwood last week one of the mansions was throwing off a ton of runoff into the street. You would think they'd have some shame. It has been better this year though. I'm noticing a lot less runoff on the streets in those wealthy areas.

Oprah's 40 acre Promised land estate in Montecito,Ca. reportedly had a $125,000 water bill last year. Google it for more info.

Is the the same guy from the Qatar royal family who was speeding his Ferrari through residential streets and running stop signs? I think at this amount of water they need to slap him/her with fines large enough to hurt. Or start rationing. Once this house has reached a certain amount per day, just cut off the supply.

I'd bet it was North Brentwood.

I saw that video and as a huge car enthusiast was so angry. 1. to drive that ridiculous on a public street is terrible and 2. To treat a million dollar Ferrari like its a beater civic ( he clipped the mirror and the engine was smoking at the end) is a disgrace to the car community.

But yea, whoever feels like they need to use 12 million gallons of water a year is a greedy POS.

Perhaps he regularly drives million dollar cars into the pool, and it needs to be drained everytime.

It's just like Al Gore and Leo DiCaprio flying around on private jets and telling us to drive a Prius to save the ozone. There's US and there's THEM.
