Hi everyone,

My fiance and I just moved to LA and we are looking to rent a room. We found one on Euclid Ave in Pasadena. It looks to be just down the street from the Villa Parke Community Center as well as the 210 freeway. Is this area a nice/safe area? The google street view looked very nice. Here is a screen shot of the map! Thank you

Compared to what?

I would consider that one of the more dangerous areas in Pasadena. Compared to Baghdad you would probably be OK.

Compared to bad areas in LA lol. Higher crime rate, seedy people, a generally unsafe area. I figured that would be obvious :P

Its still a subjective question. I don't think the worst part of Pasadena is anywhere near as bad as Van Nuys, Panorama City, South Central, bad parts of North Hollywood etc etc. But I think the bad parts of Pasadena are worse than bad parts of Glendale, Burbank etc. Personally I don't feel unsafe in the bad parts of Pasadena but you might depending on what your point of reference is

This is a valid point! I figured I would drive by the place after work and scope out the neighborhood. For all I know the street looks fantastic but the rest is crap. I just want a place I can walk around and not feel threatened or I may be in danger. Gosh darn Los Angeles. Lol

I always recommend driving by after dark to see how it feels before deciding to live someplace

It's not the best area of Pasadena but it's also not the worst.

I would say it's in the bottom 20% of neighborhoods in Pasadena.

When people talk about the bad areas in Pasadena, this area qualifies.

You want to stay south of the 210 in Pasadena. Ideally you would be West of Hill as well.
