The violent stereotype is very unfortunate, but it's not just that - it's also the wear and tear the dog will add to your unit. Pitbulls are heavy, muscular, active dogs - they tear up carpet and scratch wood flooring very easily. Lots of apartment complexes have a weight restriction instead of breed restrictions - and it's usually only 25-35 lbs.

Yes, we hear that all the time. Usually right after they attack someone.

Just a few days ago a young girl around 9 years old was attacked and mauled badly by a pit bull, walking to school. The only thing that saved her life was a neighbor who came to her rescue. The owner said just what you said "this never happened before".

You're going to have a very hard time renting in LA.

yep.

34 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2015. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 700 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 82% (28) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 6.6% of the total U.S. dog population.

Sorry pit bull apologists, facts are facts. There are also people who own lions and tigers that are the sweetest cats for years until the day they try to rip your throat out. Ask Siegfried and Roy

I've done my research on all the pit bull attacks last year and when you see the actual picture of the dog then you notice that it majority of them don't look much like a pit bull at all. A dog could be a mix of a Shepherd, retriever and pit bull and they will decide it is a pit bull. A girl in our area not too long ago was attacked by a "pit bull" and when they showed the dog on the news it was a mastiff.

I rarely believe the owners when they say that. A girl was mauled by a pit bull in my area recently and the owner said the dog showed no sign of aggression but it was always kept in the basement and never allowed out. Why on earth would you keep a dog in basement? Dogs need to be socialized with both humans and dogs. Not locked up in a basement.

Hello Atwater Village, Los Feliz, and Silverlake...even Echo Park. They are all super close to Goendale and have walkable areas everywhere. I would think anywhere within a 2-3 mile radius of where Glendale Blvd turns into Hyperion by the 5FWY/2FWY area would be ideal. Even if one didn't take the freeways to the beach...driving through sunset Blvd/Santa Monica blvd or taking public transportation through those streets are adventures Enough that the commute time to any beach would not bore. It's also Much less of a hassle to get to the beach from Atwater/Los Feliz/Silverlake than Burbank Glendale or Pasadena.

But also MTA exposition rail opens this weekend all the way to Santa Monica. The estimated time of the whole trip from downtown la to Santa Monica is less than an hour. One can even hop on the train and go to long beach if one prefers that. there are connections to those train from everywhere studio city, Hollywood, south Pasadena, highland park, north Hollywood...

The one factor no one has mentioned is the traffic on the freeways from Glendale to either side be it Burbank or Pasadena...driving through the streets in Glendale to Atwater Silverlake or Los Feliz will cut down commute time in half...and if you're working typical business hours...you really won't enjoy waking up earlier to be in traffic or sitting in your car after work.

Or they pull the its not all that breed like the racist pulling the President isn't completely Black card. If you have a weaponized dog type expect to be treated like a gun owner with military grade weapons

Oh, a huge pit bill you say? I love dogs, I'm more partial to cats, but pit bulls sadly have a poor reputation due to the wrong idiots owning them. You may have some difficulty finding an apartment community that will accept a pit bull.
