Not sure where you are looking but I just bought a 2 bedroom condo for much less then 400k

Are lot of gangs still in LA like the gangs of the 90's?

The Hispanic gangs.

Typical flannel shirt, shaved head, gang tattoos, teardrop eye tattoos, wife beater with gold or silver chain.

Me or Hollywood? Because Hollywood has picture LA has hell hole of gang shooting all the time and drive by shootings all the time and LA a hell hole city. A city full of gangs.

The Conservative media don't help too of fear for your life everyday.

Looking at the stats robbery and burglary is way down.

cases per 100,000 people

Robbery 203.5 in LA and burglary at 385.7

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ime_rate_(2014)

The County and City of Los Angeles are the “gang capital” of the nation. There are more than 450 active gangs in the City of Los Angeles. Many of these gangs have been in existence for over 50 years. These gangs have a combined membership of over 45,000 individuals.

But probably not the ones you want, I guess.
I used Redfin, the website you used had more options (the cheapest was 160k), however most of them were in undesirable areas like you said. I'm just shocked because in Chicago the rent for apartments downtown is practically the same as the rent for apartments in Koreatown or DTLA, but they have nice studio/1 bedroom condo's starting at $80k! The closest I could find was this studio in Koreatown for $210k.

I'm sorry are you looking for a apartment to buy or rent?

Rent is $2,000 to $3,000 a month should get you two bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen.

A $3,000 to $4,000 should get you three bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen.

You may get one for under $2,000 a month rent being one bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen.
