Let's face it, all newspapers are biased but some more than others. My memory of the L.A. Times goes way back to when I was just a kid. In fact laying on the floor, right now, next to my desk is a copy of the Times dated Aug. 15, 1945. The bold headline: PEACE. My husband worked for the Times shortly after college graduation. In those days the paper was fair, balanced but leaned slightly to the right. Those days are gone. We are watching our paper here, start leaning more left and yes, the size is unbelievably small compared to even 5 years ago.

Print media is a dying industry. And yet, I hate depending on the internet for news. 1-it isn't the same as lying in bed in the morning, drinking that cup of coffee and reading the comics, then the sports and so forth. 2-reading on line, depending on where you are getting your news, can be even more biased than the paper. I will stick with the paper as one source of news as long as it is still in business, regardless where we live or what paper we read. Hubby does get the L.A.Times on line.

They're all like that, LA Times, New York Times, Washington Post, every journalist thinks they're Woodward and Bernstein

It's just the way of the future unfortunately. I can't remember the last time I saw somebody read a physical newspaper.

I prefer to remove, rather than add on streaks...you know, due to the ink.

There were in my local Vons here last year trying to get people to sign people up for a subscription. He asked me if I wanted to sign up for a subscription. I told him that I have the WSJ and I will stick with them for the time being until the LA Times actually does some good national reporting.

Who would know you added the streaks?

What type of response did you receive from the gentleman?

He just looked at me kinda downcast. I thought the whole thing seeped of desperation in my eyes. If the LA Times is doing so good why would they be at a Vons trying to get more subscriptions?????

Sorry I will never buy the LA Times but I will read it when someone else puts it down.
