But African-American implies that he has Black ancestry in this country, which he does not because only his mother was American; thus "African-American" isn't really a fitting term by which to reference him.

So what? The point still stands; it's still a big deal.

I wish that they would clear their calender of everything except awarding honorariums

I do not disagree. It certainly was a big deal indeed that a "community organizer" somehow got elected into the presidency.

I wonder if they'd give extra attention to Obama Boulevard to see that it doesn't fall into disrepair as they do most of our streets.

Victim of racism/slavery usurper...even though his pop came to the United States on a scholarship.

Using a fake accent, Obama pretends that his Luo ancestors were all victims of the British, and thus, his struggle is the same as the one that took place in Selma.

They called my grandfather a house boy, "...wouldn't call him by his last name...sound familiar?"

I am here because some folks marched in Selma, says Obama. However, Obama was born four years before Selma. He goes on: "My very existence might not have been possible if it had not been for Selma."

I wonder how the L.A city council would react to a proposal to rename a street after Ronald Reagan . Reagan has deeper California and L.A roots compared to Obama . He was Governor of California and lived in the city of Los Angeles post presidency .

My grandparents remember seeing the Reagans back in the day at the Brentwood Country Mart .

Very interesting -- were the Reagans there for a special event or were they simply shopping?

It sounded like it was a regular thing, the Reagans lived nearby . I believe it was mostly Nancy they would see shopping at the Brentwood Country Mart.

My grandparents lived in Mandeville Canyon
