Much of what you write is on point. However, this notion that same sex marriage is a new concept is not accurate and it greatly predated the 1960s.

Careful you are exposing the creation of alternate history, that claims that slavery was the major reason, even when it was just one and the economic issue was the primary one. They teach alternate history today, when they bother to teach any at all.
