Homes in the 350K-400K are usually near the 105 freeway east of the airport. You would not want to live in those areas.

what price range do you want the specific LA neighboorhood? Crime is very high in most of LA, youd need to spend a million for an upscale house in an upscale location:

Area: Eagle Rock

Another nice house in Monterey Hills.
A smaller but still nice house in Mount Washington

She was still dressed in the traditional garb of whatever country it was that she came from (shawl over the head, I dunno, didn't catch what country she was from). She was waving her little American flag around while an interpreter answered the TV reporter for her (since she couldn't speak English).

No, you don't have to speak English to be a citizen.

Another thing about immigrants being here legally...

One doesn't have to become a citizen to live in this country legally. Green cards (legal ones) are another way. There is no English test when someone gets a green card.

Inglewood is a middle class area. Most homes in this area go for 6-700K, I am talking about Watts, Compton etc areas in the flight path of LAX.

My parents live in a affluent area in the SFV, they bought their house 12years ago. There house is 2950 sqft and the price that is on zillow is 1.3million. If not for prop 13 they would be taxed out of their house.

Their house was built in 1967.

As for Hispanic Immigrants, I know plenty who came here worked hard and assimilated. Not everyone refuses to assimilate! My friend Juan is a citizen and votes in every election.

GOOD GOD! The value's got to be all in the LAND! I'd never even CONSIDER living in either one. Well, maybe No. 2 if it had a large 1st floor master suite and a BIG extension in the back with a new, large kitchen/breakfast room/hearth room combo. Oh, and no need for a barbed wire fence all around.

A house like No. 1 would cost $95k-$115k (depending on interior updates) in Lincoln, NE and between $150k and $450k in the Chicago suburbs depending on location. House No. 2 would be $115k-$140k in Lincoln, NE and $200K-$550k in the Chicago suburbs.

Oh, the old saw: Location, location location!

I went to my parents house a week ago in this alleged " affluent area" and my car got broken into. They smashed my back window and stole a bunch of stuff out of my car. On several other occassions my car got egged. At least in another part of the country a million dollar home would be in a gated neighborhood!

A friend of mine lives in San Fernando, a middle class Hispanic area. His house is 1100sqft and was appraised for 480K. The house was buit in 1957.

This place is nuts!
