Hello to all,

We would be grateful if someone can direct us on where to live in California.
My kids are home school and i run my own business.
Prefer to be around 1 to 2 hrs away from LAX.
Prefer somewhere with acerage and no HOAS.
My kids ride motocross and we dont want to annoy neighbours.
We've been seaching alot on Redfin but with not sure which suburb to look at.
Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,
Dan

As a quick sweep, you should look at the Inland Empire area of Socal and perhaps the Antelope Valley.
You mention wanting acerage and you need to look well outside of LA for that.

Inland Empire is the motocross area. Look at Murrietta/Temecula to Corona

Your kids will feel at home in certain areas in Orange County or the Inland Empire. It's <2hrs from LAX, has many motocross enthusiasts, and is within driving distance to some great trails/freeride areas. Although if you want to own your own riding land and don't have piles of cash, your options are limited. What's your house budget?

I agree with this but it is also about 3-4 hrs from LAX, but you have Ontario International.

Antelope Valley (Palmdale, Acton); Norco (near Riverside) -- both are exactly 1.5 hours from LAX. Anywhere beyond that is over 2 hours from LAX.

what day and time can you get to LAX in 1.5 hours from those locations? I'm in Santa Clarita it takes me 1-2 hours to get to LAX depending on traffic

Budget is a valid question. Land here in LA is at a premium... but depending on what part of Austrailia you're coming from, you might've experienced similar.

My first thought was Acton/Castaic or maybe Lakeview Terrace area. Bonus with those areas is that you have Burbank airport as an option as well. Inland Empire or Riverside counties could also be an option though for acreage but you'll not be very close to LAX.

Thanks for all the replies. Very much appreciated.
We're from Brisbane, Queensland and traffic is bad.
Its just that we don't know the suburbs around as Redfin just shows homes all over.
We need to find a location first before i can even get in contact with a broker.
Don't want to spend over 1.5 mil.
I can be contacted on whatsapp at +61 434392230 if someone is willing to direct us.

Regards.
