Come on people, give the LA officials a break. Crime is nearly non-existent, hardly any homeless around to speak of, public schools have a 99% graduation rate and the city general fund has a huge surplus due to fiscally responsible spending. They have to find something to do to occupy their time.

Sounds like aiding and abetting to me. Once a deportation order has been issued, there are no appeals. That's what immigration court is for. Due process has been given, and has concluded. So now its just "Get out. Like we told you before". So at that point, "legal defense" is irrelevant. Its actually obstruction of justice, and aiding and abetting and inducing an alien to continue their presence in the country in the face of an order to leave. Those are all felonies.

We need a new law to force states to use E-Verify and to submit votes in Federal elections. That will end this pandering to illegals once they can no longer steal political power from the citizens.

Schaaf (or Garcetti, or Breed, etc.) wanting her city to be a sanctuary from immigration laws is as legit as Bull Connor wanting his city to be a sanctuary from civil rights laws.

These politicians think they are being brave crusaders for justice but they will be remembered as being like George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Lester Maddox, or the aforementioned Connor.

What kind of message does it send that you can pick and choose which laws you want to obey?

It's very irresponsible especially coming from Mayors of large cities like L.A , Oakland, SF , NYC etc

What kind of message? That they follow the political principles of John Calhoun, Jefferson Davis, and Alec Stephens.

Maybe all of those Confederate monuments that have come down in the South should be put up in California because California cities are in thrall to the political principles of the Confederacy.

If ICE wants to arrest illegals they could get 10,000 a day every day at the Arleta DMV and the Sylmar Vallarta grocery store.
