Keep wanting more money saying they have no money for roads, but what happened to all the other tax money that was already supposed to go to roads? If they start charging me per mileage to use freeways that my taxes have already been paying for then I'd be packing up and moving as soon as possible. There's a line, and they are approaching it at lightning speed.

More than likely the system would remove many more vehicles from the roads.
It is not meant to generate money at all, it is just to be able to implement, and maintain the sticker system.
The one time fee, pays for the sticker, and unless one buys a new vehicle, they would never have to pay the fee again.

Why would 1,000,000 people quit driving due to the sticker?

Two very good reasons;
One, it would be the law, and two, those who don't abide by the rule would get an extremely hefty fine, and a second offense would mean loosing one's license, and points added to their driving record, which in turn will raise their insurance rates.

Bob.

In other words punish people for simply trying to get to work, etc when no reliable alternative exists???? There is not sufficient alternative transportation available. Get that built first. Which of course in LA County itself is virtually impossible. No room, no money.

Right off the top of my head I can name some reliable ways to get around on the one day you can't use your vehicle.
1 carpool
2 friends, relatives, co- workers.
3 Public transportation.
Uber, or taxi.
Hop on a bike.

The big problem is, selfish people don't want to give up their vehicles for even one day a week.
