I don't think it's a raise in wages, but I guess it could be. I've noticed at the grocery store, that the prices keep going up annually, yet the news never reports on inflation, as if it doesn't exist. I don't understand that; the news and economic reports always discussed inflation, but now, maybe because interest rates have stayed low (?), we're supposed to pretend inflation doesn't exist?

As someone else mentioned, the company is run by Christians, who I'm assuming just don't believe in maximizing profits. If In 'n Out was run by a big Wall Street corporation there would be way more restaurants opened. But instead there's less restaurants and so the existing ones have heavy traffic and plenty of bottom line to pay employees more.

Yes minimum wage is creating inflation. Unfortunately when you touch minimum wage you touch everything as else as everything else ends up going up in price.

It has nothing to do with being Christians. It does have more to do with being privately owned and not having to bow down to shareholders and having to eek out every last penny of profit. With that said, In N Out starts around $13/hr which is $2 more then min wage and certainly not a living wage in most places that In N Out operates in

But anyone who goes up the management chain at In and Out starts at the bottom. They have no franchisees no shareholders or any bs that most fast food chains are indebted with. The family/woman that owns In and Out basically has the ultimate say so. She doesn’t need to answer to any board or shareholders. And I’m pretty sure that’s the way she wants it. She already has money she doesn’t need these jackals sniffing around her company.
