I'm usually a pretty good tipper, but I find myself going a little crazy lately. I feel so sorry for all the restaurant workers. If they haven't been laid off completely, their tip jar is pretty light with the reduced traffic. I find myself tipping 40-50% when picking up a restaurant take out order. Doesn't mean much to me, but I'm hoping that it brightens their day a bit. What do you think ? Let's show these people we depend on some love.

Kudos to you!!! Always had a soft spot for service folks since my stint as dishwasher many moons ago.

L.A. County just declared hairdressers and nail salons as "non-essential" businesses. I'm going to text my hairdresser and ask where I can send a check to her, anyway. She has two sons who work at Staples Center, so I'm almost certain they've lost their jobs.

we only have curb pick up service here in AR. I am sure this is the case almost everywhere. Nob being among those who eat out often it doesn't faze us, but we do have concerns about how much these people, both owners and wait staff are hurting. We now are ordering from local merchants only, once a week and are tipping more than we would ever have thought we would. Don't get me wrong, we are decent tippers when we do eat out but it is rare for us to do order out or pick up and rarer for us to tip much for just handing us a bag of food. Not only should we all be more generous with tips, but try to support your local merchants.

Notified my bi-weekly housekeeper that we needed to cancel for at least a month. Got her Venmo info and sent her $200. Also been over-tipping for deliveries.

We are tipping at 25% for the delivery people - We have certainly been eating out much more since this happened. We can never find at the grocery store what we need and we run out of perishables. These people who are losing their minds at the stores is just crazy. We are seniors but my husband is still working - not quite 65. In fact, the company he works for brought in the Mercy at LA Harbor. :-)

I don’t order food but did tip somebody a $100 recently. Normally I just give them $40.
