618 acres burned so far. And it may spread to more of the SM mountains. Air quality in West L.A. is fairly bad.

KTLA just said it could be Thursday before the air clears. I hope that's incorrect.

I went for a walk this morning in Santa Monica, stepping out at 3:39 a.m. I could smell the fire. The air was thick with its smoky scent.

By 4:30, I saw way more traffic than normal at this time of morning along Montana, 26th Street, and South Burlingame Avenue. I now realize it was all the cars evacuating from Brentwood.

I was at the Starbucks on 7th and Montana, around 6 a.m. Lots of people. Three of them brought their dogs. Way more crowded that usual at that time of morning.

Why I got home, I could smell the smoke in my clothing.

I had no idea this was going on, currently in Northern Ireland.

I am sorry this is going on at home.

Hope it calms down soon.

I'm in Houston (I used to live in LA/OC), and I'm watching The Weather Channel right now. They're reporting that the 405 southbound is shut down between the 101 and Sunset.

Still smoky. Better stay there until tomorrow

I'm guessing tomorrow wouldn't be a good day to visit L.A.? or is this semi-normal thing in L.A.?

It's not normal -- perhaps once every few years.

My eyes are stinging again. I'll be glad when this is over.
