Today with the cultural center around Crenshaw and Liemert Park practically everyone new who moves in is White and you can see large anti gentrification billboards along Slauson. And a white big church was renting space in Dorsey High school auditorium

Just saying Black folks are moving towards having no cultural center due to their 10% and dropping population
Pretty much, LA without the AA culture is bland.

If it weren’t for some of the gang problems that popped up exactly at that time(1990) in parts of the SFV and SGV(notably Monterey Park, Rosemead, West Covina, La Puente, Pasadena, Duarte, etc.) the difference would be even more stark.
Gang problems in Monterey Park?

So maybe they shouldn't sell the houses and instead pass them down to their children and grandchildren?

The problem is most people have more than one child that the assets are being split with. And that takes precedence over individual extended families trying to keep white people from coming back in some sort of racial payback for Jim Crow.

As life spans increase a grandparent with his own place finally inherits along with his brothers and sisters who are also grandparents. The only way family peace will hold is to sell the property. We are talking single family homes and not the Ponderosa after all.

Depends on what AA culture you prefer. I personally prefer current LA metro AA culture, particularly those that you might regard as more integrated and "mainstream", over other cities on the east coast with higher % but with a dominant culture that doesn't suit me.

As further evidence that the fear of 1990 is gone the 2020 CiCLAvia on Feb 25th is running down South Central Ave. from Adams to 103rd street. Watch out for street closures.

I guess the end game is that Leimert Park/Crenshaw becomes a tourist ethnic and arts location like Little Tokyo or Japan Town.

No, they lost the battle. If you lived in the center of LA with all it has to offer. Then pick up and move to some far away, desolate, dusty, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, not so safe suburban no man's land, then you lost.
