Hi all,

I was wondering what your opinions are of North Hollywood. Is it a decent area to live in? Is it safe?

Compared to what communities and income levels? I once asked a retired LAPD officer which police divisional area he would choose for the most diversity including, income, race, physical geography and any other factor he would add if his potential TV show were limited to a real life area instead of being all over the city like most LA police shows. He told me North Hollywood Division followed by Wilshire Division. Therefore I can conclude which part of North Hollywood would be more critical than just the 91601-915607 zip codes or police patrol division area.

My friend's car was stolen living in North Hollywood in front of his driveway in the middle of the night and he moved out of the house to another part of town if that's what you mean by "safe." :0(

Well having a car stolen happens from Hancock Park to Jordan Downs. It doesn't really hit my ideal of safe unless we're talking about carjacking

Cars getting stolen from Beverly Hills all of the time, does that mean Beverly Hills is very dangerous?

A rental in a cheaper place is more likely to come with a garage or behind-the-apartment parking than in Beverly Hills.

Yes, that sort of thing doesn't happen as often in flyover country. In NYC, it isn't as common with people I know. NYC has its own dangers by some blocks depending on where you are next to good blocks. Every city has its types of crime.
