Stellar? LOL. He’s praising the protesters while closing beaches because they were too crowded. He started good and is failing now.

At this point Newsom is incompetent.

Over 45% of Americans are at risk, because of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease (which includes asthma), hypertension, cancer, or obesity. That's a LOT of people.

What a disaster that job report was for Biden. Loving the stock market.

I doubt your sincerity here, otherwise I don't think you would be badgering me simultaneously about the same issue in two different threads. I told you I don't have answer so why don't you tell us what you think he should have/could have done?

My point was when all the crowds were out when the shutdowns were easing up, the authorities started clamping down and saying how bad the people were for being out there. They closed beaches, restaurants, hiking trails and parks because of crowds. They won’t let any venues open up for mass gatherings. So a couple of thousand people marching is fine, but you can’t have a retail store at full capacity .

Now here come the protesters. Not one word against it, in fact praising and encouraging them. If they really thought crowds were bad, they would have put a stop to the protests.

There’s two scenarios. One is that they really do think crowds are not a good idea right now with the virus. However, they’re too scared of the political fallout if they tell the protesters no. The other scenario is they think large crowds are fine now.

Either way, they should just lift all restrictions now. You can’t have one set of rules for one group and another set of rules for another.

You’re reasonable. Does this make any sense to you? I’m not asking for answers but I’m watching the double standard with my jaw hanging open. It wasn’t meant to badger you, I was throwing it out there for anyone. The people that rail on Trump and praise Newsom have been completely silent on this.

Dropping it now.

I don't think there was anything Newsom could do or say, I saw the same thing in the funeral service for Floyd people sitting shoulder to shoulder, no public official made an effort to make them sit further apart, my guess is that they realized it would have been impossible.

As far as lifting all restrictions now, I don't care. I will continue to take the same safeguards to protect my self and my family that I am doing now. In any case people are currently acting like the whole thing is over, whereas last week probably 70% of people were wearing masks in stores, it appears that now fewer than 50% are. I'm tired of listening to adults whine like 7 year old children because they can't go the nail salon (or whatever) so screw it, if that's what's important to the majority of people then open everything and we'll see where we are in a month or two

I’m still going with the restrictions, even if I don’t want to. Funny what you said about seeing less people with masks. I’m actually seeing the opposite in stores. I used to see many people in stores without masks or wearing them improperly. Now, it seems like everyone has one on.

I was just at Costco and everyone I saw had a mask and was wearing it right. Maybe they’re getting used to it or encouraged at the reopenings.
