Hi I was wondering what areas are good to stay at if I wanted to go to an Anaheim Angels game. It looks like newport beach is close by. I searched on hotwire for a hotel room and it brough up these other areas as well. Are any of these legit: whittier, buena park, garden grove, yorba linda, fulerton or costa mesa????

I guess it depends what "good" means.

Cheap?
Luxurious?
Close by?

All of those places are safe (in reputation).

I think there is an Amtrak station in the stadium parking lot (I haven't been there in like 20 years). Maybe you could stay somewhere else and have the fun of riding a train there too?

there is a marriott just down the street from the stadium on state college blvd where it meets the 5 freeway. I'm not sure if that is technically Anaheim or Orange, but you could almost walk to the game from there. this hotel is also close to The Block, which is a pretty cool outdoor mall.

There are about 8 bazillion hotels in Anaheim near Disneyland. Short of 5 star luxury resorts, All price ranges are available around the park.

Another option is the South Coast Metro area (Costa Mesa/ Santa Ana near the 405/55 interchange)

Irvine or Newport are nice, but you will probably pay through the nose. Garden Grove and Buena Park are downscale and would not be my choice. Whittier & Yorba Linda are too far away.

Good Luck!

anaheim stadium is surrounded by hotels.. my favorite local hotel chain is ayres. there is one across from the pond and next to anaheim stadium on katella. other than that there is a hilton and a doubletree walking distance and some more hotels a few blocks south and to the west around disneyland.

if you're looking for something to do when you're not at the game, i would stay on harbor blvd near disneyland.. ramada is slightly above cheap and very decent. on your offtime you can goto disneyland or head to downtown disney(free) where there are shops(outdoor mall) and some things to do.

buena park puts you close to knotts berry farm, medieval times, etc and is about 10-15min from anaheim stadium

unless you want to stay by the beach, nothing else is really going to be worth your while

Are there bars around the stadium? Me and my friends would like to have a few drinks before we go into the game.

Maybe you'll find more specific info on the Orange County board. Anaheim is solidly in OC, not LA.
