My post was in response to your statement "an average apartment there that costs the same as anywhere else in town."

"Anywhere else in town" (i.e. Los Angeles suburbs) is not likely to have an average 1 bedroom apartment going for $3,600/month.

There are a few 1-bedroom apartments for <$2,000.

This one is a typical multi-story apartment complex with parking.

What if there's an accident? Damage to your furniture or apartment? Or even a physical injury, to the movers or to a third party? If so, you could be sued.

Professional movers are bonded. Covered by worker's comp, plus liability insurance for injuries to third parties.

You get what you pay for. Don't be penny wise, pound foolish.

This is good advice. Not worth the risk.
