Los Angeles now has one of the highest rates of cancer in the USA.The smog and air pollution is slowly and silently killing you.Check out this article on how bad the air really is.Does anyone see the air getting better in the future.I honestly believe it may get worse with too many cars and more people in a denser city with not enough public transportation.

Let's just take this post at face value and not speculate about the intentions of the OP, please.

And, to get back to the OP, isn't air pollution much better in LA now that in has been in the past? Obviously air quality could stand improvement, but it's not an all gloom-and-doom scenario, either.

EastCoastPirate: You've been on the high seas for too long. Has the sun been beating your brains matey??

This NY Times article from 2010 (see link below) has a quote from the American Cancer Society which states that ONLY 6% of ALL cancer cases in the United States are caused by "environmental factors" and 4% of those are WORKPLACE related.

So ONLY 2% of ALL cancer cases in the entire U.S. are from "community/environmental settings".....even if we assume ALL of these cases were in LA County (over 10 million residents) that would mean the average LA resident has a 0.112 percent chance of getting cancer from smog.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/07/he...cancer_society

The war on cancer is not over but death rates from cancer have been FALLING since the early 1990's. The biggest factor in preventing Cancer is CESSATION in smoking.

Aye Aye Matey!!!
