Hello,

I am moving out to LA in a few months. I have heard a lot of great things about Westwood and Brentwood. How much is a typical 2 bedroom apartment in that area? Is there a lot of shopping, restaurants and nightlife around? How long does it take to get to the Burbank area? I am looking for a lot of help on this topic. I have not a clue where to relocate in the LA area. Please help!!

You don't want to commute from Brentwood to Burbank.

Well considering that Brentwood and Westwood are affluent neighborhoods, if you have the money then go for it. Now commuting from those areas to Burbank, I'm assuming 25-30 minutes (depending on the traffic).

Make that 25-1 hour depending on traffic.

Be prepared for the traffic congestion of Westwood. UCLA brings in 75K to 100K people per day.

Ditto about the traffic in Brentwood and Westwood. It is the worst in the city, next to downtown. For Brentwood, the problem is the time that it takes to get to the 405 or the 10 freeway at rush hour. Just getting to the freeway can be 20 minutes. It is a great neighborhood, though, if you don't have to travel too far each day.

westwood is filled with college students, unless your into that scene, I wouldn't live there. brentwood is where the students move after they graduate (from ulca or elsewhere) so it is more of a young professional crowd. two bedrooms in either neighborhood probably start around $1800/month and go sky high from there.

as others have mentioned, you will not want to make the daily commute from that area to burbank, you'd would be spending atleast an hour and a half everyday in your car. consider areas like los feliz or studio city. they're not as close to the beach but are vibrant neighborhoods with plenty of young people and much easier access to burbank.
