Hi All,

My husband and I are going to LA from MN for a wedding in October. I've been researching fun places to stay in or near Los Feliz. We won't be touring the "common" sites like the walk of fame or any of that, but it would be fun to be near Los Feliz so we can hit the Dresden, 4100 Bar, Mexico City and so on. Does any one have any suggestions of places to stay that are clean, retro maybe, and under or at $100/night? We are staying 2 nights.

Thanks all!
Sarah

When we first arrived in LA to look for housing (4 years ago) we stayed at the Sanborn Guest House in Silverlake; there are just two rooms, there's a shared kitchen, and it was very nice for the price. It's within walking distance of Los Feliz's Vermont Ave as well as the action in Silverlake. While I haven't been back there since, they're still in business and I assume just as nice now as it was then. There are also some motels around the hospitals in Los Feliz, I don't think the rates are any better, and they certainly have a lot less character.

Sanborn Guest House, a Los Angeles Silverlake Inn providing Hollywood charm and comfort.
