I'd actually like to see more development on the south east part of the city, there is more than enough land available, enough for some mixed use type of development plus enough land to retain for rural purposes. I'm still curious to see what's to be developed once McNeese Street is extended to Wardline Road and Corbina Rd is extended to Prien Lake Rd.

So, can i infer that you believe Vegas/Atlantic City are the best cities in the U.S?

That's good to hear, most people don't like LC so much. I'm one of the people who like Lafayette better, but LC's lakefront is envious!

Walnut Grove Post on my blog

A look into the viewpoint of JRSTAVES: Walnut Grove Development-Lake Charles, LA

This is a part of Lake Charles that I don't think we have really discussed yet, but this park has potential to be a rather nice park. It's along the Calcasieu River, beautiful photography location.

There's another supposed development on the books called Morganfield Development. It looks cool, but I think they must be waiting on the extensions of McNeese street and Corbina Road.

Default E-mailed the company behind Morganfield.

I actually e-mailed the real estate company and I was told that this development would be about 2000 acres. The first 350-500 would be for TND type real estate while the remainder would be conventional suburban development. There will be retail along both McNeese St. and Corbina Rd. I'm glad to see Lake Charles get this b/c they could use some mixed use development. When the Waterside subdivision was first developed I thought to myself "this really should be a part of a TND" and even when I would look at this area of Lake Charles on a map, I thought "wow, look at all this land, why are we so focused on the southwest part of town growing?". Good job Lake Charles, finally doing something right

The plus side is a lot of that area is undeveloped land in the city limits, so Lake Charles has nothing to do but grow!
