Hi everyone,

I'm going to be getting in to Nola on Monday, moving into a new place. So excited! I want to try to set up an appt for an Internet connection now. Since I'm super busy with moving I don't really have much time to look through all the companies or deals, etc.

Can anyone recommend which company to go through for high speed wireless? Mostly I'm looking for the cheapest, but also want to make sure the Internet connection is reliable.

I do not want cable TV, even if it comes with a great deal. I hardly ever watch TV (and don't even have a TV right now!) And I also won't have a landline. So. Just Internet, only Internet. (I know you intelligent cd-ers can probably understand that, but no matter how much I try, the companies I usually call always end up trying to tell me what a great package deal they have...it's not a great package deal if I'm paying for more than what I want!)

Thank you!

Oh, and if it helps, I'll be living in uptown. I know some companies may only service certain areas, etc.

This should probably be in the New Orleans forum.

AT&T or Cox will hook you up with home internet. They're about the same and cover the entire city.

The price of Internet with Cox has been steadily going up the last couple of years. I moved here three years ago paying $28/month for mid-quality Internet service, which they moved to $32, then $37, and now $43 for the same service plan. Is AT&T like that, too? But like you, at least I'm not paying for cable or landline. :P
