Zurik: Is jet-setting Jindal illegally funding a presidential ca - FOX 8 WVUE New Orleans News, Weather, Sports

I admit, unabashedly so, that I'm no fan of Louisiana's current governor for several reasons. So suffice it to say that I'm not interested, in the slightest, at the idea of his current ambitions to become the next US president.

I find it quite ironic that an individual who denied much-needed assistance from the president, due to his anti-Obama and "conservative" convictions, would spend so liberally to secure national brand recognition for next Presidential Election Season. I'm not enamored with the idea that you and I have paid for his multiple trips around the country for him to recruit a national audience, which as detailed, is illegal.

I'd like to create a dialogue about this. What do you think??

Read the article. Watch the video. Let me know your thoughts.

Ciao

Is this any surprise? Jindal has made being Louisiana Governor his foot-in-the-door for running for President. He's blatantly misled Louisiana citizens by saying his administration was going to be transparent and establish a "Gold Ethics Standards for Governing in Louisiana". But saying and doing are two completely different things. The State Ethics Board says his funds are only for in-state spending but he's obviously not doing that. Over $1 million in out-of-state spending? Unreal but none of our elected officials will raise hell about this because they lack leadership and the cajones to do so. Jindal is just proof that nothing in Louisiana has changed as far as politics are concerned. Yet the general populace shrugs their shoulders and does nothing. They could tell their district reps that if they want to keep getting elected they need to raise hell but apathy is tremendous here. But God forbid anything get in the way of LSU football and Saints games getting televised...now they'll raise hell over that.

Absolutely spot on, especially the bolded portion. The apathy, I imagine, stems from the extensive history of political corruption in our state. After so long people wonder if their concerns really matter or effects the outcome of things.

I wonder how many people actually voted for Jindal in the first place.

I watched half of the video. It kept refreshing itself for some reason.

But the spending is outrageous. I can't imagine this will have much impact on Louisiana republicans. People often overlook his many failures like privatization of state hospitals. We had to give Baton Rouge General-Mid-City millions of dollars to keep the ER open, a hospital in Monroe is now in the same boat since he didn't accept Medicaid expansion.

The only thing people here will get angry about is the 2nd amendment, LSU football, Saints, and those damn plants ruining our ecosystem.

This is beyond outrageous. What's even more insulting is how flagrant this guy is in his actions. I might feel better if he respected us enough to be even a little discreet about it. This guy doesn't even give a **** if you see him burning all your money!

What gets me is how well received Jindal is in places like New Hampshire, Iowa, etc. Of course he's been courting the primary states and caucus committees but you'd think these folks would pick up on the bang-up job he's been doing in Louisiana all these years. It's a sad commentary that none of this gets a mention in those states. As long as he wraps himself up in the Neo-Conservative blanket and repeats conservative values over and over, it's like a hypnotic spell on those dough-heads.

Wow, the usual liberals whining about a well-liked Louisiana governor that's not in prison!
Newsflash! Socialism and free stuff for constituents isn't a Louisiana trait.
Mary "pipeline" Landrieu will be looking for a new job very soon!
