Hi! I want to move to Louisiana because of the weather as well as more opportunities to start a business and other work. I'm also very interested in the Cajun/Creole thing and it's rich history. However, I want to know which part of south Louisiana is safe. Here are my concerns:

1. I am Dominican American. Are there lots of Dominicans and other Hispanics living there?
2. What part of south Louisiana do Hispanics actually live?
3. Which city is safe? Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, etc.?
4. Is it easy to move your business/find a job there?
5. Are the public schools nice? List the schools please!

Thanks everyone!

Ok....work with me here. I'm thinking
You must've made a typo of some kind.
You stated that you WANT to move to South Louisiana.
First of all, why?
No one moves to SLA because they want to; SLA is a place where one ends up.

Your best bet is Lafayette. It's much safer than BR or NO and it's the center of Cajun culture. There aren't many Spanish speakers in Louisiana but Lafayette probably has more as it's also the center of oil business in Louisiana and is closer to Texas. New Orleans is the cultural center of Creole I think and is the place you will find more diverse people to interact with. Buena suerte.

I've never heard someone say they wanted to move to south Louisiana because of the weather, so it's safe to assume they have no idea what it's like in high humidity with heat index of 120, or that you can sweat off 10 lbs of water in a day or just walking to the mailbox. Spring and fall last 36 hours, and then there's winter, which is just enough time to cool off before the next summer cranks up.

I just moved OUT of Louisiana and the weather is definitely something I won't miss.
