I hadn’t seen the maps but seemed like after the whole Wind Energy week(or whatever they called it) they had a while back all systems were a go. Hadn’t heard much more info though.

Default Lafayette’s New Airport Terminal

https://developinglafayette.com/wp/i...JuO3otHEHb-IPo

Lafayette’s new airport terminal is about to be completed in December and will begin service in the new year. Exciting for the city and much needed. The old terminal was boring and outdated. This looks pretty great. Hopefully it draws some more attention and becomes an economic boom to the city.

I do think that we still need to support the oil and gas industry especially because of the well paying jobs it provides blue collar workers without a college degree. Unlike the Rust Belt, Louisiana still has a lot of well paying jobs thanks to this industry.

We've worked very hard to attract the expansion of the Formosa Plastics plant but left wing forces are trying their hardest to derail this project as well as limit or stop offshore drilling in the Gulf.

Kenner Treasure Chest Casino and Laketown Development

https://www.nola.com/news/business/a...55065.amp.html

Hopefully this gets built out. Would be a good destination for the New Orleans metro. Sucks that St Tammany voted down their casino proposal. More entertainment draws to the city and metro are good.

Default Offshore Wind Energy Developer looking at Louisiana

https://news.google.com/articles/CAI...S&ceid=US%3Aen

“ RWE, a German company that has renewable energy operations in 15 countries, urged regulators to focus on Louisiana despite studies showing Texas has a clear advantage with stronger, more consistent wind speeds.”

“With the development of renewable energy policy in Louisiana, there is a pathway with a timeframe of when commercial viability may be achieved,” McKeever said. “As such, RWE Renewables recommends that BOEM prioritize advancing a leasing area off Louisiana, specifically western Louisiana due to stronger wind speeds.”

This is some good news. If we’re going to have a chance at growing the economy we definitely need to move beyond oil and gas. Also glad to see the state get out ahead on something.

This is great, would love to see some corporate jobs come with this as well. Houston has them all.

Default Updated Plans for Six Flags Site

Bayou Phoenix the developer taking over the six flags site has posted an updated plan.

https://bayouphoenix.com/wp-content/...lan-052022.pdf

Looks very ambitious but I like it. If it’s done right it could work. There is a lot in the works for New Orleans East. Just ready to see it take off. Hopefully soon.

Default Dave and Buster’s Negotiating a space in Lafayette

This would be an awesome grab for Lafayette. Of course it comes when I’m about to make a move to the BR area. Definitely will visit.
