I have noticed that houses in the Deer Park Area are priced much lower than areas similar distance from Bardstown Rd. Is there a reason? Is Deer Park not as nice, safe, or prestigious? Thoughts from anyone are appreciated!

It is nice, safe, and prestigious. It is part of the Highlands, but you will pay substantially more to be near Cherokee Park (east of Bardstown). Location, location!

They aren't any cheaper. Nothing wrong with the location. There are two on the market with one priced at $135 Sq.Ft. and the other at $142 Sq.Ft. The median price per Sq.Ft. within about 3/4 of a mile is $144 Sq.Ft. Perhaps the house(s) you saw was on the small side or something was wrong with it.

There is one pending at $105 Sq.Ft. but it's doesn't really conform to the area so the discount is understandable.

What you may be noticing is that Deer Park and the area immediately around it has some relatively small houses for the area and the build quality isn't as good as some of the surrounding developments either. Nothing wrong with Deer Park per say.
