Errrr.....it was an example of the illogic of making claims (which I indicated mine were unsourced and probably not even true HINT HINT HINT) and then demanding others go source them for you.

Also, thankyou for pointing out that city-data.com is not spelled twitter.com.

Money doesn't equal great schools.
Yep, my neice and nephew went to Mequon-Theinsville....really good school.

The thing you really want to avoid is parents in poverty -- their children have all sorts of expensive problems. Conversely, when the median income of your city is north of $100,000 (Mequon), it's almost impossible to F-up. The more interesting examples are schools that defy the socioeconomic odds.

Lol, sure it was. That's why you said this: It's ok though, Wisconsin is typically ranked in the bottom tier of states in terms of higher education so they've got nowhere to go from there but up.

It was a completely unfactual statement, you got called out on it & now you're trying to backtrack. It amuses me when people do that, the internet version of stammering when you can't answer the question.

How can you with a straight face compare the two districts?

How can someone say 15k is fourth highest in the country with a straight face?

Not is that not even to 4, I doubt it is top 100. I'm looking at the state I live in now and probably 1/3rd are higher than that.

Look on the bright side, Walker's policies will make the state look like The Wisconsin Dells.

And now we see how some of this budget uncertainty due to the Walker administration is having direct negative results on UW Madison

UW budget uncertainty alone enough to scare off blue-chip profs

Highly problematic article that seems more propaganda than news.

Nowhere is there talk about how much funding the Carbone Cancer Center may lose under a proposed budget. Lot's of hearsay quoted but no real fact about anything.

Before posting, I went to the Annual report for the Cancer center cited in the article. I can find no mention of their annual budget nor how much comes from the state of WI. Really weird to me for an Annual report to not even mention the financial operations.

The report does plenty of self promoting and asking for financial gifts though.

Look - I have no issue with the Carbone Cancer Center. My point is gov't always asks for more, squeals like a little girl when someone even mentions doing with less and yet is always very secretive about where finances go.

The UW's little upcoming haircut will not destroy it's work or reputation one iota.

What does it matter if the funding of the center was actually to be affected or not? That's rather irrelevant.

The issue is that even the perception of potential issues, which are created by the administration policies, can negatively impact the recruitment of top candidates. It did here. That is undeniable.

And a "little haircut" is a big understatement.
