You must be new to all of this. You need more liberal training. This type of crap has been going on my entire life in Madison. Not a single new thing.

Oh Walker. What would we talk & write about in this boring state if we didn't have him around? Prairies? I think we owe him a pat on the back just for giving us something to talk about.

Read your above post and think about what you are stating.
I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you had a bad day.

Perception is THE issue you claim. Holy cow.

By your reasoning, gov't policies and taxpayer expenditure it to be built around assuring that Madison bureaucrats are happy.

Look - one can just as easily read that article and claim that it is good these folks did not take positions. Based on the cursory analysis they did to reach their decision, they are not deep thinkers.

An argument can also be made that we should not believe anything in the article because as I noted earlier, there are no facts stated in this "news" article.

"little haircut" is not an understatement in the context of UW expenditures. It is and always will be, a well funded venture. Madison folks just want more- always have - always will. Nothing new here.

Ah, these brilliant people that turned down the positions are not deep thinkers, but you are. Got it.

And for driving the economy into the ground, while the border states are doing well in comparison.

Let the exodus begin…..I guess those "lazy" Harvard and Stanford trained professors really do mind "teaching one more class"

Faculty uneasy about working at UW after cuts, tenure changes

Great, low salaries
Losing the professors that help create IP that fuel start ups and great paying jobs.

MN putting more into higher ed, WI cutting it.

Brilliant, way to sink the state. These people really just hate education and people with good paying jobs.

It's a 2% actual cut. Nothing dramatic. More drama.

So, quick. Give me a top ten list of start-ups over the last 17 years which came out of UW. That are still in business. Note the 17 year time span. I gave you a head start by including the go-go days before the dotcom bust.

It is currently 8:21pm. Tic, toc, tic, toc, tic, toc

It's more like a 15-18% cut of the operating budget, which pays base salaries and benefits. That's quite significant.

It is a 2.5% (or so) cut from the overall budget, though that overall amount includes grant dollars and such that have nothing to do with basic operating costs of the university.
