I just got an email from the Weather service.

From 7pm to 10am, we are to expect 5 inches of snow, which may mix with rain, ending with a period of freezing. Ice accumulations less than a tenth of an inch. Temps upper 20s to lower 30s. Southeast winds 5mph going up to 20 mph, dying before sunrise.

Which peaks my interest as it seems that we are warming up.

A little storm but no negative temps. It has to warm up a lot to get liquid rain

Is this an indication that this season of global warming is finally ending?

Don't get overly optimistic there, Forest... seems to me typically most of our snow comes between the first of Feb. and the end of the snow season... which won't be for a bit yet.

This is just our January Thaw.. getting here a little bit late.

It's supposed to be back in the single digits at night by mid week next week. Better than below zero I guess though I wouldn't call it warm.

Down at sea level on the coast it's rain with a bit of snow mixed in. We had six or seven flashes of lightning and some thunder about an hour ago. There were about 5 inches of slush on the ground. It's supposed to go to 37 here tomorrow so clean up will be a snap!
Cold returns later in the week.
