I think we have pretty much decided to visit "Bacon Farm" in Sidney. this will be a new one for us. Last year was a bit of a disappointment but I won't mention where that was. Hoping for a sunny day! Get out and visit one - you won't be sorry, especially if you have never been to one. You can check out the list for the whole state by checking out the Maine Maple Producer's site on Google. Opps - I should have said "tomorrow" is Maple Sunday but you get the picture

Reason: mistake
Roadrat - read my "whole" post. It just felt like Sunday to me this morning for some reason. I expected to hear my favorite garden show on the radio at 8 and it was Tom Gosze instead. lol But hey, I like Tom too.
I don't know if anyone is interested, but in dover foxcroft we have maine maple sunday breakfast at the fire house. it is a fundraiser for "homecoming" a large event for the town and foxcroft academy. the breakfast has grown from a first time turnout of 100 to 1000 over the last 5 years. all volunter and donated. admission for breakfast is between 5 and 8 dollars and the selection is huge well prepared and served hot and fresh. not as large as the whoopi pie festival, but preety darn decent.
A bit cold and windy today for an outing here in the Crown. There's one maple farm also open next weekend so maybe the wife and I will make that one. Hope the weather is better for the rest of the state.
It should be next month! 36 Degrees at Merrifield Farm in Gorham. Cars packed North Gorham Road near the farm and long lines everywhere. I hope the farmers did well.
Location: Los Angeles, but looking for my niche in ME, or OR

I have never been to one of those Maine Maple Sunday! It sounds just DELICIOUS, whatever that is... Can anybody enlighten this flatlander from (far) away?
It's when some of the Maine Maple Sugar Farmers harvest the sap and turn it into various Maple products. They open their doors to the public so they can see how it's done. They even make Maple taffy in the snow (crushed ice if no snow available) for visitors to try. Of course there are their products available for purchase too.
