2. Light camping. Wife not really the hike in type. Yet loves a cabin idea. Bathroom I will pass her the shovel if everything else is worth it.
3. Historical stuff. Not the tourist stuff. The explore and discover.
4. Beach (fishing me her the water)
5. Time of year June to sept
6. She hates the cold
7. On the cheap.
8. Local people
9. Local places to hangout. Good eats, prices and local hang.
I don't fish so I don't know where the best spots for that are but two wonderful lakes are Moosehead in Greenville, and Rangeley Lake in Rangeley Maine. Moosehead is about 60 miles north of Bangor. In Southern Maine there is Sebago Lake not far from Portland. Are you driving here or flying and renting a car? Request the state tourism book from tourist information site in Augusta.. I believe you can find that on google. The state is just covered with lakes but of course the coast is over 2000 miles with it's inlets etc. Probably you should pick an area and get more information about that particular area. I would say that the further south you are in Maine the more expensive things are.
