I know this may be off the beaten track, but I am looking for a photo of the old Woolwich-Arrowsic bridge running from Preble Point in Woolwich to Arrowsic. The new bridge was built in 1950, and the old one was torn down.
The bridgekeeper lived next to the bridge, and it was his job to manually crank open the draw whenever a boat had to get through. As a young boy, I remember helping the bridgekeeper push the crank around a circle many times to get the bridge open. I lived near the bridge as well.
