The brave men and women of the NH legislature introduced such a bill today - but only if MA does it first.

Yes, you would be driving by my place. I get the same messages driving down to New Friendly Seafood, stating I am subject to international rates however when crossing into New Brunswick I have service halfway to Saint John, almost Blacks Harbour, and when headed to Fredrickton about 40 miles in.

My phone will be on Atlantic time at Harris Point but go back to Eastern at the R&M IGA. When I was a kid and I went wrinkling with my great uncle our lives were ruled by the tides and not the clock.

I do not see how it would benefit anyone.

My dad had a deer camp in southern NY. The dairy farmer we used to hunt with changed his time 15 minutes per week in the spring and fall to gradually adjust the cows to the time change. I suppose he could have just stayed on Standard time (or DST), but he would have been out of synch with the rest of the world (or at least his community).

I would think through logic if you moved if for more light in the afternoons, then you have less in the morning, prompting people to complain about the lack of light when they wake up. This would move you from one complaint to the next, but homes, buisnesses, ect all need to adjust to the change. It would really make Maine a state like no other unless NH does the same though.

This is if my assumption in first sentence is correct.

Agreed.

I would love to be on Atlantic time, and I hate the time change every six months. I honestly don't care which way they pick. Just pick a time and stick to it.

I would love this. I'm from Michigan, which is on the western edge of Eastern Time. That means it stays light out so much later. In the middle of summer it's still light at like 10:00 PM some times.

Maine is the exact opposite, being right on the other edge of the time zone. So it gets dark here by like 8:00 even in the summer. If we moved to Atlantic time then we'd be on the western edge of that, and have much more light at hours that people are actually awake.

It was great growing up in Michigan. We were outside (in daylight) til 9:30 or so! I'm in MA now, and definitely support New England changing time zones. NH has already approved the change if MA makes the jump. Hoping this continues to gather momentum!
