It rained like all beejeebers here yesterday and last night. Sunny and 52 degrees today but, a bit blustery.

3.75" here yesterday. It must have been wild while we were gone. The rain hit the windshield so hard it sounded like rocks rather than water.

3.5" here yesterday. Headed out at 6:30 AM this morn and it was surprising the flow in the brooks-lots of wet areas for this time of year. Kind of messes up the choppers who are trying to get jobs finished up.

People measured from 3.1 to 4" in our town. It would pour in one area while just misting a half mile away.

That is one reason why the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network is working hard to get as many observers signed up to measure and report precipitation each day. We really don't have the data we need to truly understand rain intimately, and to accurately predict what areas will flood. My rain gauge is affiliated with this program and I would encourage anyone else with an interest in weather to check us and and join the team!

Grew up in RI, living in NC for last 18 yrs, we are looking to move to Maine now, it has been in the 90's for months with humidity to match, and getting crowded down here..they finally are catching up on fees and regulations so you might as well live up north...I was coming home from Boston during the " Blizzard of 78 " so I guess winter can't be too bad...
