Hello. I am moving off the Air Force base at Andrews (retiring) and picking up a job in DC. I know nothing will be as safe as being on base, but I wanted to find a place near a metro that is GREAT for a famly (I have 3 liitle kids and a wife) I know to say away from areas such as Suitland, parts of Clinton and such, but really we have no clue about the other areas of MD/DC/VA. We are looking at a max rent of 2300. Thanks!

First, thank you for your service! If you are staying in MD, I would think you could do quite well with $2300 lokking out toward Gaitehersburg?Rockville. The metro in that direction extends about the furthest out of the city, probably offering the best combination of security/cost for your family. Yeah, you could go cheaper staying near Andrews. I assume you went off base occasionally. Compare that area to Rockville or Gaithersburg
