Question regarding the area of East Arlington between Mass Ave and Broadway (bordering partly with Alewife pkwy/St. Paul cemetery): is that an area safe to live in and walk around in dark; also what about the cemetery area - any youth gangs/noisy teenagers/junkies/homeless people there at nighttime? Would you live in that area, and how does it compare to Arlington Heights?

I grew up in Arlington. Completely safe, I would not hesitate. It's a little more blue collar than Arlington Heights but it's fine.

Agreed. Safe, working-class (modest houses, some multi-families, small yards). Arlington Hts. is more suburban. I wouldn't hesitate to live in either.
