Have you tried signing up with any of the temp labour agencies such as Manpower or Marathon? They have the reputation for signing up anyone.

There's none in my area. There is a day labor place a few towns over but the whole place was taken over by the hispanic community. Right now I still don't have a car, but there are ways I can get around. But the issue I'm having is getting a job. Everything else I can take care of. It's the job part and getting over the hiring process. I'd like to work in a grocery store but there's only 3 in this area. One hires hispanics more then anybody, the other one brushed me off for a year and the last one is never hiring. The obscure warehouse positions I see never mention the name of the company. WHY I don't know. I sent off a pdf "resume" to one once and never got any response to it. BASIC JOB too.

I'm looking for long term part time or full time minimum wage work. Plenty of listings and plenty of applications but that's it. How is everyone getting the JOB, I DON'T KNOW.

You want to know where I am, I'll tell you. Haverhill, MA.

People who have trouble getting even basic jobs often have strange mannerisms that annoy or scare people, which kind of goes along with Aspergers. You've got a disability and it takes time to overcome that, and get training for a job you can live on.

You can't live on a basic minimum wage job because you need health coverage for meds and doctor visits. Therefore you need to get into a skilled trade, unless you want to take forever to get into a profession.

Your state rehab place can set you up with training, transportation, and hopefully getting a job - though you should get an offer by the time you finish trade school.

All you need to do is accept that things will happen more slowly for a disabled person. Patience.

I told you I wasted almost a year with the rehab commission. They wanted me to find a job without transportation. It's not possible in this area.

But they didn't train you for anything? Like I said, you're in no position to live on a min wage job. Ask for another counselor if the one you have is insisting you get a job like that without training.

When I said to have patience with them, I meant more like 3-5 years.

Oh no! I can't imagine this producing desirable outcomes.

Have you looked into online transcription work?

A minimum wage job is fine for me but I'm having alot of trouble finding one because of the way things are today.
