So I have an offer and need to move to be close to Framingham.

Looking initially for a short term month to month furnished apartment. So far prices for the large corporate places are $4K-5K a month!! WTF???

Apart from Craigslist does anyone have any advice as to where to look? Do such places exist?

I don't want unfurnished as I will be moving house in time to the area, and therefore do not want to sign a 12 month lease on an unfurnished place, with all the extra hassles this involves, especially since I only need somewhere for 3-6 months.

I would also consider a long stay hotel suite with kitchenette, but so far all searches bring up dumps that people write a lot of hate about

I will also be eventually based out of Marlborough, so looking for advice on good areas to find a house i the $400K-600K plus price range.

Thanks for any 'helpful' comments, and if you need more info just ask.

N

Not sure on the furnished rental, but you can buy a house in Marlborough in that price range

If you find a rental that's unfurnished that you really, really like there are some companies in the area that rent furniture.

I guess that I am used to furnished lets in Europe. Lived in Brussels for some time and they are everywhere. I guess with contractors coming in and out of the city all the time.

I'm even considering sticking some furniture from home in a u-haul and renting an unfurnished place.

Problem is they all want a 12 month lease! I simply need something better than a hotel for 3-6 months while I relocate. I didn't think it would be this hard

Month to month is uncommon in the larger apartment complexes, but you should be able to find places that offer either 3 or 6 month leases with an option to go month to month after the lease is over. I've lived in Simrah Gardens in Hudson and I recall they offered a 7 month lease. There was another place I looked at which offered a 3 month lease, but I don't recall which one off the top of my head. Try to give Jefferson at Wheeler Hill or Applebriar in Marlborough a call. It won't be finished, but at least you might find a short term rental.

What about the extended stay hotels in the area? I'm thinking the Residence Inn, Embassy Suites and Extended Stay America, which are all right there. I can't imagine they'd be that much. Are these the ones you had contacted?
