Sort of across from the theater? It's starting to ring a bell (I think).

Kind of diagonal across but yes. BTW, the town has definitely sunk some money into the center in the last couple of years and it's really looking great right now. They just finished the most recent round of road work.

Polar Caves in Mashpee on the Cape. My Dad will drive 20 miles for their Frozen Pudding Ice Cream!

Absolutely! I'm lucky enough to pass by Ice Cream Sandwich all the time but Polar Caves is the OTHER good one on the upper Cape.

Yes, it's certainly not the Dedham Square of my youth.

I have been to White Farm and I like their ice cream, too.
Will definitely have to try Archie 1a. Thanks,

As an aside, I remember reading a while back that New Englanders consume more ice cream per capita than anywhere else in the country. It's probably because we have so many good ice cream shops!
I read that, too. Florida is trying to open more ice cream shops because nE ers must feed their habits!

Don't forget Lizzy's; I think they started in Waltham, on Main St. now; also now on Church St.. in Cambridge and maybe (?) Davis Sq. (or is that , too, another JP Licks now?).

I recall a cool ice cream place in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, one in Eugene, OR, as well as Mallard's in Bellingham, WA, on my Pacific NW trip last year. So, this upscale ice cream phenomenon is not unique to our region, but perhaps it is on a more widespread scale.

Lizzy's also has a location in Needham Center. When my wife and I were dating we would go to the location in Harvard Square from time-to-time and we always thought it was great ice cream. I've only been to the Needham location a few times though as either this location isn't as good or their ice cream isn't as good as it once was. Don't get me wrong . . . it's good ice cream just not great in my opinion.

Trombetta's Farm in Marlboro! Great ice cream, best ice cream cakes I ever tried. I always order one for my kids birthdays.
