I know the 93N commute is terrible, but how is the morning drive after the Braintree split taking 93S / 95N to Dedham?

Is it considered a reverse commute, and somewhat lighter than traffic going into Boston? It's about 15 minutes without traffic. What should I expect in morning rush hour?

Terrible traffic, both ways, morning and evening.

Where are you commuting to/from?

I used to travel this stretch of highway regularly during the morning hours prior to August 2014, when I moved to Newton. I don't know if any new factors have been introduced since then, but once you got past the exit for Rte. 109 (Exit 16), traffic would start moving normally again. I'm guessing this was due to the bridge work at this interchange.

Does the highway still clog before this exit? And if so, why? I was on this stretch of 95/128 north a few days ago (outside of "rush hour"), and it appears the road has been widened to 4 lanes now, all the way up to just beyond Exit 18 in Needham. So shouldn't that help alleviate congestion?

Really depends on what time you'll be hitting the road. I used to commute from Hanover to Norwood and would hit the road at 6:00-6:15ish. Traffic would be relatively lighter but there would still be slow downs at the Rte 24 junction, and then again right before the University Ave exit (#13). Definitely won't be as bad as 93N heading into to Boston, but not always smooth sailing either.
