I'd hate it even more if someone else's kid got it because people refuse to vaccinate and as a result have let some of these diseases regain a foothold.

Thanks, everyone, for saying what I wanted to say. I didn't move here to end up in a measles epidemic. We don't want to become like those pockets on the west coast that are seeing a resurgence of vaccine-preventable outbreaks.
