From your own link............

"But according to a study by the state Executive Office of the Trial Court in 2014, out of 604 people charged with possession of a Class A substance, which includes heroin, with intent to distribute in 2013, 400 of them — 66 percent — were ultimately incarcerated. People charged with possession of a Class B substance, which includes cocaine, were incarcerated at a lower rate — of 838 charged, 434, or 52 percent were jailed."

And your point is?

34% charged with Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to distribute, got no jail time. Zero. Nada. DISGRACE.

You absolutely do, especially when trying to determine which formula has a greater success rate (at reducing homicides). Also to note, I speak ALL homicides, not just by firearm. That's another major problem with several of your cited studies, they do not include non-gun related homicides. Should I now feel more comfortable in the UK, now that I am more likely to be knifed to death than shot?

This is a state of Massachusetts issue, and therefore belongs in the Massachusetts sub forum. Don't care for the thread, don't read or post in it. Thank you.

See this is the problem - you asked for research, I gave you links to over 100 scholarly peer reviewed studies that all come to the same conclusion. Rather than read them and understand what they say, you chose to ignore them and try to divert the studies findings.

Oh and by the way, I think we are all still waiting for your list of peer reviewed scientific studies.

What??? These animals (yes I said it) are murdering our children. In a sense I agree that we often expend too many resources processing them through the revolving door of the justice system over and over again. You sell heroin and/or fentanyl, you need prison for life with zero chance of parole. I have no problem making their first housing payment, although burying them in the ground sounds honestly much better.

You have to be joking right? SWAT teams in every small town??? My town (heck even my whole county), doesn't have a SWAT team never mind a tank! Killing people trying to catch a pound of marijuana??? Maybe in the favelas of Rio, even there I would highly doubt it...sounds like somebody needs to turn off that BLM and do a Ride Along with their local PD. Your eyes may open up some...

I did not ignore them, I skimmed through them with the limited amount of time I had. Some conclusions could be drawn, but nothing convincing of what you claim. Like all studies, they all came with bias and other flaws (or if they did actually control on important factors, they failed to disclose it). I will post links when I'm back on my laptop, like I ALREADY said.

Yep. A thread started with a poorly written Boston Herald piece.

You do know that charged and convicted are very different things, right?

Also, that prosecutors overcharge. Its been that way forever. They charge people with a higher level crime to give them room to plea bargain.

I predict that this thread will be as impactful as the WROR threads related to POT. You are not going to convince a FoxNewser that life exists beyond a very narrow mindset of God, Guns, and 'Merica.
