You will be held to that. That puts us at April 9th. Feel free to adjust your expert guided predictions at any time.

I am most definitely not an anti-vaxxer, but I bet you there are a lot of parents (like me) who are hesitant to give their children a brand new vaccine that has zero data about long-term effects when the chances of children having complications from COVID-19 are basically 0%.

I hadn’t even thought about that. Good point.

Models are predicting 47,000 to 172,000 total cases in Massachusetts, and the peak between April 10 and April 20.

It's a great point to bring up, and valid.

I assume when the vaccine does roll out, the high-risk, and medical personnel will be the first to receive it.

Those dubbed low-risk and children may not even be offered it until well later. At that point, there may be enough vaccinated that not everyone will even need to be.

I don't see them scaling up production for 7 billion people. They just needs to be enough immune/vaccinated to break the chain of transmission

If exposure is likely, and for this virus it seems so, I'd prefer my child's immune system be exposed to an attenuated (weakened) virus than the real-deal 'wild' mutation. There are also vaccines which do not use attenuated 'live' virus, in which case it is further de-risked.

The only risk I can imagine is a false sense of security if a strong immune response is not created, but I doubt the FDA would release if that is the case.

I think the risk might be worth it.

The latest model has been revised upwards to almost 100K deaths during wave #1, which is current through June/July. Peak of around 3000-3500 deaths per day

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...cid=spartanntp

The article briefly mentions a 2nd wave in the fall. I know it's been mentioned a few times in various articles. Historically, with the last 3 major pandemics (1918, 1957, 1968) there have been 2 waves of the illness. In all 3 cases, the 2nd wave was deadlier.
