Hello, all,

I would love to hear any insight about Dunstable. Despite living in MA my entire life, I know very little about Dunstable, so what can you tell me?

We’ve been living in Boston for the past ~20 years and want OUT. We spent some time in rural Vermont and loved it. We would like to move back (or maybe to the MA hilltowns), but alas, we are tied to Boston for work. I drove through Dunstable and, aesthetically, it is exactly what we want. But I would love to hear more about the vibe. I really want to get away from the competitive streak of greater Boston. And I’ve got three kids who are, um, more quirky than jock-y.

Would Dunstable fit the bill?

What‘s Groton-Dunstable (middle/high) like? Is it more sporty or more artsy? Is it the kind of school where you will be ostracized if you’re not a sports superstar and/or very wealthy?

I would love to hear any insight that you have! Thank you so much!

There is a good mix of folks up there but it is a good place to be left alone. I'd considered it in the past but the problem for me was the lack of housing for sale. I've noticed some new builds recently but those aren't as interesting as some of the properties you can find up there. Couple that with it being slightly too annoying to get into Boston and it just wasn't for me.

You can get anything you want right over the border in Nashua without having to live in Nashua. It is like you cross over into a different country. Pretty easy to get to Lowell for more interesting/ethnic food options too. I know someone who lived there and went to GD for school and had a good experience. Not very diverse though but it is a good school system.
